October is Farm to School month! Students are learning about food and how it gets from the farm to their plate. All STEM classes participated in Georgia Organics' "Parslay the Day" lessons. We grew parsley in our Tower Garden which uses water instead of soil! We prepared a cream cheese and parsley spread to taste test on saltine crackers. Small posters with nutritional facts about parsley are set at lunch tables, and student lunches have parsley added this week! The results are in and most students liked the parsley and want to try it again! - STEM Teacher, Mrs. Haynes Octubre es el mes de la granja a la escuela. 🎉🏡 Homecoming Week is in full swing! Today’s theme: Teacher vs. Student, and we loved seeing everyone get creative! 🤩 Students rocked their favorite teacher's iconic looks, while teachers brought their best student swag. 🌟

MCPS celebrated Georgia Reads Day, acknowledging community partnerships' significant contributions to literacy statewide. Guest speakers engaged students through classroom readings. A GPB Livestream Pep Rally, starring Coach Malcolm Mitchell and the Share the Magic Foundation, partnered with the Georgia Council on Literacy, captivated students. Mayor Fred Perriman led a discussion on heroes with a group of students. 📚📖📚📖📚📖📚📖📚📖📚📖📚📖📚📖📚📖 MCPS celebró el Día de la Lectura de Georgia, en reconocimiento a las importantes contribuciones de las asociaciones comunitarias a la alfabetización en todo el estado.
