Get ready, Morgan County Charter Schools family! š Exceptional Childrenās Week is zooming in from April 15-19, 2024, and it's going to be a blast!

Welcome Back!!
We hope you had an amazing Spring Break filled with rest, relaxation, and lots of memories. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Today, Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. A total solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun and earth, completely blocking the face of the sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk.
In Morgan County, weather permitting, a partial solar eclipse is expected to take place approximately between 1:47 and 4:21 p.m. with the maximum viewing time around 3:05 p.m.
While this natural phenomenon does provide a unique learning opportunity and is an exciting experience for our students, we urge parents to review the attached safety precautions and discuss them with your child(ren) to ensure the safety of their eyes.

šFrom guiding our research quests to igniting the flames of curiosity in young minds, librarians are the guardians of enlightenment. šš
Happy National Librarian Day! We appreciate all you do!

Happy Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! š Every day, our paraprofessionals bring dedication, compassion, and invaluable support to our classrooms, making a significant difference in the lives of our students! Thank you!

At the recent State Board of Education meeting, MCHS teacher and GA Teacher of the Year Finalist, Ms. Jenny Cofield, led the inspiration, by giving her students a platform to share their projects "Bobo Book #2" and "Dime Mas."
"Bobo Book 2" is a bilingual children's book written with inspiration by Mrs. Cofield's class research into the interests of Spanish-speaking students at Morgan County Primary School. Through their research, they discovered that primary age students and their families did not have access to dual-language children's books. From this discovery, "Bobo Book" was written.
"Dime Mas" ("Tell me more") isn't just a project; it's a bridge that connects cultures and communities. š This initiative immerses Hispanic students into our community, where they collaborate to publish a 1-2 page newspaper showcasing their insightful interviews, bridging cultures and celebrating diversity.
Through this beautiful exchange, not only do these students deepen their connection to Morgan County, but our community also gains invaluable insights into the rich tapestry of cultures within our midst. š¤š
Ms. Cofield's vision reminds us that education goes beyond textbooksāit's about building understanding, empathy, and unity. šā¤ļø

Mr. Bullard's World Hisory students competed against the clock in an inquiry based Escape Room Challenge: Age of Revolutions. Students used their background knowledge, collaboration skills, reading comprehension, and a little ingenuity to make their way through puzzles, secret codes, first hand accounts, and secondary sources to solve the lesson. š§©š”
And who said learning can't be fun! Way to go Mr. Bullard and detectives! š

Today the Elementary School hosted the Morgan County Wax Museum which featured an array of historical figures who have helped heroically in building the American Dream. Students memorized amazing facts, wrote narratives in first person, and developed unique Google Slides presentations to display their knowledge. We are extremely proud of their efforts, as knowledge of the past ensures a brighter future.
