🌊🦎 2nd Grade Adventures at Rock Eagle! 🐢🌿 Our 2nd graders had an exciting, hands-on adventure at Rock Eagle that brought science to life in the best way! Students students rolled up their sleeves (and got their feet wet!) as they used dip nets to collect and identify creatures living in Rock Eagle Lake during Lake Ecology. The fun didn’t stop there! In Herpetology, students got up close and personal with reptiles and amphibians—including snakes, frogs, turtles, and even a baby alligator! 🐍🐢 Their faces lit up with excitement as they learned all about these fascinating creatures and what makes them unique. It was a day full of discovery, adventure, and memories that will last a lifetime! Thank you Rock Eagle for having MCPS 2nd graders.

🌟 Congratulations to the Morgan County Middle School FFA Chapter! 🌟 We’re proud to share that MCMS FFA has earned a Gold Emblem Chapter ranking from Georgia FFA—an honor awarded to only the top 10% of chapters across the state each year! This recognition is based on the outstanding work submitted in the National Chapter Application, highlighting activities that were thoughtfully planned and led by our amazing officer team as they worked to grow leaders, build community, and strengthen agriculture. 👏 2024–2025 Officer Team: Sam Nichols, Jessie Jones, Emalee Sims, Hailey Boyd, Brynlee Dickerson, and Dee Gurrero-Alvarez We are incredibly proud of our students' dedication and so grateful for the unwavering support of our schools and community. 💙 Today was a beautiful reminder of the heart and spirit that makes Morgan County so special. Morgan County Charter Schools Special Olympics brought together students from across the district to celebrate ability, friendship, and joy. From start to finish, the day was filled with laughter, determination, and proud moments as our athletes showcased their talents and cheered on one another. 🌟 What made it even more meaningful was the support from our MCHS ambassadors, student clubs, and staff who gave their time and hearts to ensure every athlete felt celebrated and seen. At MCCS, we are incredibly proud of our Special Education program—a community of students, teachers, and staff who remind us every day what it means to lead with love, perseverance, and purpose. Today wasn’t just about medals—it was about moments, memories, and the power of inclusion!

Last night, the Board of Education proudly recognized several outstanding student achievements! 🎉 Congratulations to: The Lady Dogs Basketball Team for making it to the Final Four, Class of 2025 Valedictorian, Kentucky Outlaw, State Literary Competition Winners: Girl’s Solo: Sora Rose (State Champion) and Girl’s Trio: Sora Rose, Annabel Sparrow, and Aaron Cooper (Runner-Up) and MCCS 2025 Math Competition Winners: Kentucky Outlaw – Connie Green Mathematics Competition, Emerson Williams – Adams-McMichael Mathematics Competition, and Charlotte Morris – Molly Bonner Mathematics Competition. We are so proud of these Bulldogs for their hard work, talent, and accomplishments!

🚗 Safe Driving Summit Comes to Morgan County High School! 🚦 On Friday, April 4, Morgan County High School proudly hosted the Lutzie 43 Foundation’s Safe Driving Summit in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation. This powerful event educated and empowered students to make safe choices behind the wheel. The day included: 🗝️ The 43 Key Seconds Safe Driving Initiative 📢 A keynote from Mike Lutzenkirchen, who shared the story of his son Philip’s tragic death in a distracted driving crash 🚓 Insightful breakout sessions with first responders, trauma professionals, truck drivers, and more 🚛 Hands-on experiences, including a look inside a real big rig to understand a truck driver’s perspective The foundation’s motto, “Live like Lutz, Love like Lutz, and Learn from Lutz,” reflects its mission to help others live out the many positive character traits Philip displayed, while learning from the tragic circumstances that led to his death. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible.

Congratulations to Addison Hilsman for winning the 2025 Georgia FLEX Competition! 🏆 His company, Elite Diesel Performance, earned a $10,000 prize. Your hard work and entrepreneurial spirit are truly inspiring! Way to go Addison!

Today, our kindergarteners took a special trip to the high school to explore the College & Career Academy! Guided by high school ambassadors, they got a sneak peek at the exciting programs and career pathways that await them in the future. From a teddy bear clinic in healthcare 🩺 to cookie-cutting fun in culinary 🍪, visiting the greenhouse 🌿, and even building small airplanes ✈️—our youngest learners had a blast with hands-on activities that showcased different career pathways! It’s never too early to start dreaming big! 💡✨

A huge congratulations to our 7th & 8th grade chorus students for absolutely shining at the Large Group Performance Evaluation! 🌟 They earned straight SUPERIORS from all four judges in both performance and sight-reading—a rare and outstanding accomplishment! Even more meaningful? After the performance, both the sight-reading judge and the head performance judge pulled us aside to share how impressed they were—not just with the students’ musicality, but also with their kindness, respect, and professionalism throughout the event. 💛🖤 🎵 Their performance included: • “Plaudite” – a Latin piece that opened the program with strength and precision • “Homeward Bound” – featuring lovely duets by Millie Ghann & Jenna Lee Kalland and Brinley Sides & Gianna Martinez 👏 Special thanks to Karisa Seymour and Cara Jensen for their support in making the trip smooth and successful!
