While some in our county experienced power outages and damage, we are grateful that the storm's impact was not as severe as anticipated. Morgan County Charter Schools will be closed on Friday, September 27th, and students and staff will transition to a remote, digital learning day, per the recommendation of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security. As a reminder, Morgan County Charter Schools will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, Thursday, September 26, but extracurricular activities are canceled, with the exception of afterschool programs.

Our MCPS garden yielded 120 sweet potatoes, totaling 38 lbs, from only six plants planted in May. We have learned that a 10-day outdoor curing period is crucial for developing sweetness. As an excellent source of Vitamin A, sweet potatoes play a vital role in maintaining a healthy heart and lung function. Our school garden provides valuable hands-on learning experiences.
