Cerealbration Breakfast! 🎉
Throughout the month of February, in recognition of Black History Month, we recognized and honored the contributions of Black icons, both past and present.
Students were invited to research a Black historical or modern-day figure, read a book or article about them, and create a decorated cereal box showcasing their life or achievements. Today, these students received a certificate, a goody bag, and enjoyed gathering together for a cereal breakfast.

Durante todo el mes de febrero, en reconocimiento al Mes de la Historia Negra, reconocimos y honramos las contribuciones de los íconos negros, tanto del pasado como del presente.
Se invitó a los estudiantes a investigar sobre una figura negra histórica o moderna, leer un libro o artículo sobre ellos y crear una caja de cereales decorada que mostrara su vida o sus logros. Hoy, estos estudiantes recibieron un certificado, una bolsa de regalos y disfrutaron de reunirse para un desayuno con cereales.

What a delightful literacy night at our Masked Reader Title 1 Event, where students and adults alike shared laughter as staff members in book character inflatable costumes took turns reading and acting out stories. Shout out to the masked readers, Coach Redd, Coach Fraise, Mrs. O'Neal, Mrs. Haynes, Mrs. E, and Mrs. B. 📣 A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to the success of this event! THANK YOU to everyone who attended our Book Fair and Masked Reader Event! We appreciated having your families.

Our book fair is open this week! Please send in cash or check (made payable to MCPS) with your child on their scheduled shop day. 1st & 2nd grade students will shop with their reading teacher. Parents are invited to shop on Thursday, February 6th from 3:30 until 5:30.
