MCPS Administration Team
I am honored to serve as the Interim Principal at Morgan County Primary School. I am a native of Madison and still live here with my husband, three children, granddaughter, and grandson. I am a proud graduate of Morgan County High School. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Piedmont College in 2008 and attended graduate school there as well and earned a Master of Education degree in 2009 and a Specialist degree in 2012. I taught 1st and 2nd grade at Morgan County Primary for eight years. As an educator, I am a lifelong learner who is passionate about helping individual students reach their fullest potential. I believe that the primary school years are critical in the future success of a student and that the instructional program must be a unique one that considers physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development. I am also committed to providing the support and professional development that teachers need to meet the needs of today’s 21st century learner. I am excited to see what this school year holds for us here at Morgan County Primary School.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as your Interim Assistant Principal this year. I was born and raised in the town of Marquette, Michigan on the shores of Lake Superior in a place known as the Upper Peninsula. I moved to Georgia in 1998 and began my career in education as a High School Math teacher at The Gatewood School in Eatonton, GA. This is my 23rd year in education and my 6th year in the Morgan County Charter School System. I have taught at the 6-12 grade levels and been an administrator at the K-12 grade levels. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Northern Michigan University, a Master’s in Business Education from the University of Georgia, a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia. I have spent many years in school and chose to be an educator because I am passionate about learning and the opportunities that come from being a lifelong learner. I am blessed to have been able to teach, coach, and be an administrator serving students, teachers, and families at all age levels. I feel my purpose in life is to serve others and that is what I try to do every day as an educator. I look forward to a great year at the Primary school.

I continued my education and earned my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University and then my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University.

My name is Suzanne Kennedy and I am honored to serve as your Pre-K Director/Early Learning Coordinator this school year. I was born in Lyons, Georgia and moved to Athens, Georgia with my family when I was three years old. I am married to a retired educator, and we have a beautiful blended family of seven children and four grandchildren. My husband and I currently
reside in Watkinsville, Georgia where my family and I have lived for the past 30 years. I began my journey in teaching and learning when I graduated from the University of Georgia, Go Dawgs!, with both a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. I was a kindergarten teacher for many years until the state of Georgia implemented the Pre-K program, and I quickly jumped on board when Clarke County School District piloted one of the first classrooms. I have served in many roles over the past 33 years but found my passion when I became the principal of College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center in City Schools of Decatur. I retired after eleven years as principal, taking one year off before returning to education as a part time employee at Morgan County Primary School. My passion has always been working with preschool and Pre-K staff, families, and children in various roles (teacher, instructional coach, mentor, and administrator). I strongly believe that all children can and will thrive when offered a high quality early learning program from a loving, dedicated, and well-trained staff. The preschool/Pre-K teaching team at Morgan County Primary School is one of the best programs that I have been honored to be a part of during my journey. I look forward to continuing working and learning alongside an amazing school family at Morgan County Primary School.
