It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as principal of Morgan County Primary School! I am incredibly honored to work alongside an incredible leadership team to lead the instructional efforts at MCPS. We are extremely fortunate to serve such a supportive community of dedicated teachers, involved parents, and diverse learners. I have been in Morgan County all my life and too walked the halls of MCPS as a student. During my 15 year career as an educator, I have served students as a teacher, academic coach, and assistant principal here at MCPS. I want to pay forward the experiences I had as a teacher to the many innovative teachers I serve in our school. Teachers and students will take risks when they know they are supported through timely feedback, high quality resources, and opportunities for growth. I encourage you to join me in supporting a culture of excellence by actively participating in your child's educational experience. It is going to be a great year.

Heather Doolittle
As I begin my 19th year at Morgan County Primary School, I am honored to serve as the Morgan County Early Learning Coordinator. Early intervention has been my focus since I first began my education career and continues to be my passion to this day. In 2005, I graduated from the University of Georgia in the field of Interrelated Special Education with an emphasis in ages birth to 5. I later went back to UGA to attain my Master’s Degree in Adaptive Special Education and, most recently, received my Specialist degree from Piedmont University in Curriculum and Instruction.
Throughout my career at MCPS, I have taught self-contained special education, PreK, and Kindergarten. I have also served as a diagnostician for the preschool special education department and served our community preschools to provide interventions for at-risk students. During my 8 years as a PreK teacher, I was among the first team of teachers trained by the Rollins Center for Language and Literacy which continues to shape our program to this day. I was also involved with the team that planned and implemented the PreK and Head Start partnership. I am eager to empower our teachers in best practices to ensure our students have a strong foundation for literacy and social skills.
On a personal note, I am blessed to live in Madison with my husband, Ryan, and our two children, Brooks (16) and Wesli (10). My family enjoys spending time in South Georgia where I was raised as often as we can to visit family. I am also an avid reader, dabble in painting, and love cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs!
