As we welcome you back to the second semester, please know that the Morgan County Charter School System considers the health and safety of our students, staff, and community members as the highest priority. With the spread rate increasing in our community over the break along with a more contagious variant, we plan to reinstitute enhanced mitigation strategies effective at the beginning of the second semester. As we did earlier this year, we are going to temporarily restrict non-essential visitors, limit field trips, encourage students and staff to wear a mask, reduce large group gatherings, and socially distance to the extent possible. Our adherence to these guidelines allowed us to remain in-person throughout last year and the first semester where many school systems were not so fortunate. We are confident that we can successfully navigate through these challenging times.
While the recommended guidelines for isolation and quarantine time have been shortened, we encourage you to please keep your child at home if they are sick. Absences for students who choose to quarantine will be considered excused.
As we progress throughout the second semester, we will continue to closely monitor the impact of COVID-19 and adjust accordingly. These practices are subject to change based on spread rates and guidance from the Georgia Department of Public Health and our local medical professionals. Thank you for supporting our schools as we continue to serve our students and community.
