Governance Team

The Morgan County Charter School System is committed to providing meaningful opportunities to promote parental and community engagement. As such, each school is represented by a School-Based Governance Team that directs the school towards achieving their mission and makes sure the school’s efforts and resources are properly focused toward that goal.

The School Governance Team works to bring parents and other members of the school community together to discuss difficult education issues, improve academic achievement, provide support and assistance for teachers and administrators, bring parents into the school-based decision-making process, share ideas for school improvement, provide input in personnel allotment and budgeting decisions at the school level, and provide advice and recommendations to the principal and Superintendent.

The purpose of the School Governance Team is to make decisions and provide input to support the continuous improvement of the school in accordance with the provisions of the system Charter. Each School Governance Team Chairperson and the school Principal also collaborate with system-level administrators on the System Governance Team.
