Scott Ellis,
Band Director at MCHS The Morgan County High School band is under the direction of Mr. Scott Ellis. Scott Ellis is currently in his twenty-fifth year as director of bands at Morgan County High School. Since coming to Morgan County High School, Mr. Ellis has been named Star Teacher for MCHS twice, in 1989 and again in 1997. Before teaching in Morgan County, Mr. Ellis was the band director at Baldwin High School in Milledgeville, Georgia. Throughout his career, the bands under Mr. Ellis' baton have received numerous superior and excellent ratings at festivals throughout the state of Georgia. Mr. Ellis is a graduate of Florida State University where he also received a certificate in clarinet performance. Mr. Ellis is an active member of MENC and GMEA. He has held many leadership positions in GMEA, including instrumental chairman and district chairman.
Mr. Ellis lives in Watkinsville with his wife, who is an elementary music teacher in Madison. The Ellis' have one son who is a professional percussionist performong with the Carnival Cruise Ship Line.
